I'm a Product Manager in the ICT space. I help Customers (internal and external) understand the data that is available from our machines, how it can be used and the benefits that it offers. Currently I do not have any team members that report to me however I am seen as more senior member in our team that can be called on when required for guidance and direction. Over the years I have been lucky enough to be involved in many projects some of which I have been the founder and others which I have supported and been an active member. Challenges I face include collaboration between departments, clearly defining what needs to be done and by whom and getting commitment from teams, staff so that we can create actionable items that will be delivered on time.
For me this type of coaching works very well. It gives me the ability to work through topics, think of real life situations, reflect on past experiences and how they could of been handled / managed differently. Online only courses offer flexibility however don’t give me the ability to interact with a coach and talk through each topic to ensure I'm getting the most out of it.
Benefits that I noticed were being able to leverage from my coaches experience and discuss real life situations. I much prefer discussing real life examples and situations rather than text book scenarios. Working through these topics, I have learnt some valuable tools and skills. It helped me to fill in some blanks and gave me an understanding of different methods I can use. It also made me realise how we can easily adopt bad habits without regular training and discipline.
