Success stories Ross Adler

Business Manager

Tell us about your role.

I work within a local government organisation and manage 5 Long Day Care (Education and Care) Services and entry level Aged Care Services. My responsibilities include leadership and management across a diverse range of service responsibilities and activities as supported with approximately 100 staff, 50 contractors and up to 200 volunteers who collectively support 2,000 customers.

What is 1-1 coaching like?

The experience with one-to-one coaching has been invaluable. As a CPA I am committed to a continuing program of education. Whilst many courses and training programs provide specific relevant information, one on one coaching provided development in context of the actual situations I encounter ongoing. Real time coaching on real issues.

What did you get out of the program?

Clarity on how to approach managing complex issues in the areas of safety. Confidence when engaging 'difficult' conversations with people.

What advice would you give to someone starting out with coaching?

To get the most out of it there needs to be honest disclosure from the outset. In my case that disclosure included how I felt about what was happening.

A word from the coach

"Ross embraced coaching right from the start. He was open and honest and approached things with a very positive mindset, which enabled him to add value back into his team and business quickly.  Ross's commitment to self-development made the coaching process a very rewarding experience."
